Rooted in the philosophy of SourcePoint Therapy®, which offers guidance for engaging with principles of order, balance, harmony, and flow, this practice recognizes that expansive, mind-opening practices vary for each individual. What feels freeing for one person's system may be anxiety-provoking for another. There are numerous pathways to entering expanded states of awareness, including movement, music, art, somatic practices, tuning into the natural world, guided visualizations, or simply becoming curious about what's happening right now.

We'll work together to identify practices that resonate for you, grounding in approaches that provide relief and grant access to alternate states of being. Without dismissing the places that are hurting and in need of attention, the goal is to shift the nervous system from fight or flight, making it possible to journey deeper within and integrate practices that truly support individual transformation.

The Benefits

Research shows that meditation practices lower cortisol levels and improve attention and emotional processing. In addition, there is the possibility of experiencing states of equilibrium, serenity, wonder, bliss, or a sense of “at-oneness.” Such states can coexist with the truth of suffering, allowing for a greater sense of vitality and aliveness even in the midst of difficulties.

This is not just a concept, occurring in the abstract, but rather embodied as a felt sense. When rooted in awareness practices, it’s no longer just a pretty metaphor, for example, that peace arises in the midst of suffering, as the lotus emerges in the swamp. We experience this in the body, in our own flesh and bones.

Note: this is NOT psychotherapy. In the case of acute symptoms of depression or anxiety, working toward stabilization with a licensed mental health professional will be a prerequisite for this work.
